Getting to you
Great Barton to Sudbury is the A134 all the way, about half an hour. Long Melford and Lavenham are on the route, so the Stour valley villages fit together nicely in a day.
What a sweep in Sudbury costs

Not the way we do it. Old, wide, unlined flues get a traditional hand sweep with rods and a brush sized to the flue, working slowly, rather than a power sweep pushed through. Historic and thatched properties are a specialism of ours and we treat the chimney as part of the building, not just a pipe.

A cowl or a bird guard, depending on the flue and what it serves. On an open fire a bird guard keeps nests out; on a stove a proper cowl keeps rain and birds out without choking the draught. We supply and fit them, and we will not sell you one if the pot is fine as it is.
